There are many places to visit in Abruzzo, from the seaside to countryside, from lakes to mountains

It is a varied landscape,  rich in history.  One of its finest features is the ancient hilltop villages.  There are so many it would take a life to explore and enjoy them all.

From the lakes of the nature reserves, from the sea to the mountains, from the countryside to the hinterland, there is something different and unexpected to explore every day. The exclusive 4-star President Hotel in Silvi Marina is located in close proximity to all these places.   In an hour by car, guests staying in our hotel can reach the national parks of Majella and Gran Sasso, the beaches of Pescara,  a variety of countryside farmhouses, our natural lakes and the wine cellars scattered across the region.

Silvi Marina is close to countless restaurants and trattorias where you can try traditional abruzzese wines, a speciality of this corner of central Italy. And,  after a glass of excellent Montepulciano wine, venture into the hinterland to discover the ancient villages of the Abruzzo; first on your list should be Scanno, Santo Stefano di Sessanio and Rocca Calascio.

Don’t miss the opportunity to visit one of our castles, in particular Avezzano, Celano, Balsorano, Anversa degli Abruzzi and Pacentro, as well as the Hermitages of San Bartolomeo, San Giovanni and Santa Croce al Morrone. Another part of our religious  history  is the region’s many convents – Madonna del Carmine the Santissima Annunziata del Poggio in primis.  On a smaller scale are the religious sanctuaries such as San Gabriele dell’Addolorata,  and Volto Santo di Manoppello. And no visit to our historic buildings is complete without  a stop at the abbeys of San Giovanni in Venere San Liberatore a Majella and San Clemente a Casauria.  Their grandeur and beauty is compelling.

And if during the tour of these wonderful places of cult you happen to come across one of the many festival that make this region an important cultural center. There are festivities for all tastes, from those dedicated to the big screen world to those that revolve around contemporary art, without forgetting the events related to jazz and music in general.
